All of the stuff you need to know about Zac Efron!

Born in San Luis Obispo, California, and raised close by in Arroyo Grande, Zac Efron took his first step toward acting at the age of 11 when his parents took note of his singing ability. Singing lessons soon led to an appearance in the production of "Gypsy" which ran 90 performances, and he was hooked. After appearing on stage in "Peter Pan," "Mame," "Little Shop of Horrors" and "The Music Man," guest parts quickly followed on television series, including "Firefly," "ER" and "The Guardian." After guest-starring in several episodes of "Summerland," he joined the regular cast as girl-crazy Cameron Bale. Efron also starred in several pilots such as "The Big, Wide World of Carl Laemke" and "Triple Play." He recently starred as an autistic child in the television movie "Miracle Run," alongside Mary-Louise Parker and Aidan Quinn, in the Disney Channel Original Movie "High School Musical", and guest starred on the hit Disney Channel show "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody". Zac graduated high school in June 2006 and attending his graduation in his hometown with his classmates. His favorite sports include golf, skiing, rock climbing and snowboarding. He recently added surfing after spending days on the beach for "Summerland." He plays the piano at home, and is currently teaching himself to play the guitar. He's also currently fixing up two cars in his spare time, a Delorean and '65 Mustang convertible, both treasured hand-me-downs from his even-more-treasured grandfather. Efron lives at home with his parents and his younger brother Dylan. They have two highly affectionate Australian Shepherds, Dreamer and Puppy, and a very independent Siamese cat named Simon.

	Title: Me and Orson Welles Role: Richard Samuels Status: Pre-production Zac will star in the upcoming film adaptation of the novel by Robert Kaplow of the same name. The story is set in 1937 and centers on high school student Richard Samuels, who happens upon the yet-to-open Mercury Theatre and is noticed by its founder, Orson Welles. Now a teen hero, she starts using her fame to speak out for the causes she believes in, most of all integration. Zac will play her "love interest". 	Title: High School Musical 2 Role: Troy Bolton Release: August 17th, 2007 The film takes place during summer vacation and Troy lands a job at the country club, Lava Springs, not knowing that his job is a part of Sharpay's plan to steal him from Gabriella. Accidentally foiling Sharpay's plot, Troy not only helps Gabriella get a job as a lifeguard, but also lands jobs for Chad, Taylor, Zeke, Martha, Kelsi, Jason and the rest of his Wildcat pals. Making it worse, Sharpay finds out Kelsi has written a duet for Troy and Gabriella that's sure to outperform everyone at the club's annual Midsummer Night's Talent Show.
